About
Lauren Brown is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and an avid lover of photography. Based in New York City, where she has lived for most of her life, she has built a career in visual storytelling across photography, publishing, and media.
She began her career at De Facto Inc., a photography agency, where she rose through the ranks to become a photo agent and producer, working closely with photographers on editorial and commercial productions.
In January 2017, she transitioned into publishing as a photo editor at ELLE, spending three years at Hearst and contributing visual work across titles including Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, and Town & Country. In 2020, she joined Condé Nast as a Senior Visuals Editor working across Allure and Glamour, where her work has been recognized with ASME and SPD awards.
Her love of film led her to the Brooklyn microcinema Spectacle Theater, where she volunteered from 2012 to 2017. She now volunteers with local community fridges in Queens and North Brooklyn.
Lauren served on the SPD Board of Directors from 2020 to 2024.
